What is FSSAI?

FSSAI, full form Food Safety and Standards Authority of India, is the food regulatory body of India. FSSAI looks after the safe production, manufacture, as well as, safe handling of food products. The validity of the Food License issued by FSSAI, the food regulatory body has validity of 1 year and can be extended to a maximum of 5 years. Consequences of Non-renewal of FSSAI License

The FSSAI online registration of the food business is mandatory for compliance with the Food Safety and Standards Act, 2006. FSSAI has requested that all FBOs should apply for renewal within 30 days before the current license expires.
